Third Bio-Gentle Training Event
january 27th - 30th, 2026
The end of January marked the 3rd training event of the Bio-Gentle MSCA Doctoral Network held in Leuven Belgium between 27-30 January. The focus of the Training was membrane fabrication and characterization, explored through a series of inspiring talks covering diverse perspectives, including chromatography, filtration and carbon capture.
We would like to sincerely thank all the speakers for heir valuable insights and engaging discussions: Prof. Cristiana Boi, Prof. Xing Yang, Dr. Volkmar, T, and Dr. Joris de Grooth from the Bio-GENTLE consortium as well as our guest speakers Prof. Patricia Luis Alconero, Prof. Ivo Vankelecom, Dr. Willeke de Haan, and Dr. Kylie Cortebeeck.
Beyond the lectures, the event also featured two highly interactive activities. A poster session gave all Doctoral Candidates the opportunity to present their work and exchange ideas, while a lab tour of the Xing Yang and Ivo Vankelecom research groups provided hands-on insight into membrane research environments and facilities.
Overall, it was an enriching event for everyone involved, and we are already looking forward to our next Bio-GENTLE training in June in Toulouse, France!
